I found Kate by accident. I contacted her about some rental property since I was planning to sell my father’s estate and subsequently rent. Turns out, I hired her as my realtor to sell the estate! First, I did some research on her before subjecting to her to an interview. I saw that she had a lot of experience selling and buying homes in my area so that put me at ease since I never sold a house before. When I interviewed her, I was impressed with her knowledge, confidence, nice demeanor, and levelheadedness. She also produced for me a personal and very professional looking booklet that explained the reasons behind selecting the listing price of the house and outlined the process her and her team would conduct to sell the house. I had a lot of questions, and she was available to answer them for me in a prompt manner. Given her strategy to sell the house, it sold quickly, and I received top dollar for it. Kate took a deeply human approach to helping us navigate a scary, stressful home-buying experience. She taught us how the market works, and advised us on how to structure offers (completely differently than I would’ve imagined) — knowledge that proved invaluable. Even more importantly, on the philosophical side, she helped us understand what we needed and wanted. At open houses, she’d challenge us to think about issues that, as first-time home-buyers, weren’t on our radar. She also helped us see the bigger picture when a bid didn’t go our way. We bought at the height of the crazy, pandemic-fueled seller’s market, and things felt hopeless at times. But Kate — as much a therapist as a real-estate agent — got us through it. (Seriously, they should give her an honorary degree in clinical psychology for the energy she spends keeping clients sane). In the end, despite the market, we got a wonderful house that has virtually everything we need and want — a rare outcome, even in the best markets, and a huge credit to Kate. Kate is outstanding agent. My wife and I were happy to experience both selling and buying through her at the same time. Kate went above and beyond in our few months working together. The highlight (or lowlight for her) was when she saved the day when we accidentally had furniture delivered to the new house before we closed. Kate quickly found a truck that she was able to borrow and physically helped me load up over 30 boxes of a sectional couch to bring back to our existing house. Not every agent would jump to make that kind of effort. I've already recommended her to a close friend, and will continue to do so in the future.
